BODEGA ROMA

This elegant wine label, branding and packaging is a design for my made up winery Bodega Roma. The design stands out for its unique look and feel. The vinery would be located in Ronda, Andalusia, Spain. The name, Bodega Roma, connects to the towns history as current Ronda is of Roman origins. Romans invaded it around the beginning of 2nd century BC and it was used as a fortified post during the Second Punic War.

The branding revolves around the Ancient Romans and their art. It’s well connected to Ronda’s history so I saw this as an opportunity to bring some of their interesting patterns into the modern market. My main inspiration is the mosaic tile form from ancient Greece and Italy.
The concept was to detect a structural grid in a grape leaf from the analysis of its nature. I looked deeply into the veins of the leaf, to see the unique print each of them has. I applied the same technique for the olive leaf and applied it to bottle of oil as a complimentary product.

The result is a strong and timeless design that stands out amongst the many label designs out there. The outside packaging is a sturdy box with cutouts from where the bottle can be seen through.
